Project:
Development of a War Crimes Evidence Search System
Duration:
6 Months
Project Cost:
$50,000
Software:
ESRI
Distribution:
The World Court at The Hague

Project Description:

The evidence for a war crimes case at the World Court often includes hundreds of documents, interviews and video clips which must be cataloged and geo-referenced for review by the court members.

This project involved the development of a GIS based evidence search application, which would be submitted as a part of the Government of Ethiopia’s war crimes case against the Government of Eritrea to the World Court at The Hague. The application was developed to allow the Court Commissioners to navigate through the thousands of pieces of evidence, interviews, video clips and photographs. The software was designed to be simple to navigate and use by individuals with little or no computer experience.
